Volunteering Record
• Open Heart International
Volunteered for pathology asistance in open heart surgery campaigns in Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and Nepal. I have been involved in aproximately seven of these outreach trips, providing much needed heart surgery for both children and adults suffering from rheumatic heart disease and other heart problems.
Surgeries included heart valve replacements, "hole in the heart" repairs and other congenttal heart malformations.
• The Way - Redfern
Helped assisting Ted Moxon with the amazing work done amongst the aboriginal children and adults in Redfern, Sydney. This involved teaching computer skills, food kitchens, camping and recreation expiditions. This work made a significant difference to the Redfern community and helped improve the overall safety and crime rate in the area. The facilities were donated to "The Way" by Anthony Mundine.
• Pathfinders
Was involved for approximately eight years, helping out as a unit leader in my local pathfinder youth club, (Similar to Scouts run by the Seventh-day Adventist church.)
• Homeless Shelter
Was involved with Judi, my wife, organising a rental house for homeless families as a joint venture between the Adventist Church and the Salvation Army.
